I worked on John's Cajon cars for 5 years,- #86 orange in 72( at South Bay), the first red white and blue #86, the petty blue and fluorescent red #86, the red white and blue front wheel drive 1965 #13 mustang, the red 73 mach 1 #13, the number 9 Marck Motors Winston West torino and the 70 Thunderbird Winston cup car We were 9th in points in Winston west in 75 and John was rookie of the year. Then I started working on Sprint, midget and Indy cars....
If I remember right- Bucky drove for Jim Bridges in 1971 And before that the Cartwright Insurance Special, a tan 57 Chevy convertable- Can't quite drege up the number though.
LI watched ever race I could leaning against the last fencepost- One night Mark Norris #99 hit RIGHT there and I just moved behind the fence! I think he hurt his leg, it was on top of the dashboard when he stopped! And the #6- Jenson was the first to use coil over shocks and front discs off of a Lincoln
in El Cajon. it will be around for car shows, but not racing.
